The Allentown Hibernians claimed the 2009 Philadelphia GAA Hurling Championship by capturing game 2 of the best-of-three series at Cardinal Dougherty HS. Final score, Allentown 3-8, Philly 0-3. Thanks to the Shamrocks for outstanding competition and team effort. The teams have been closely matched and fine effort from both teams.
Next game tentative Sat. August 8th Cardinal Dougherty HS team TBA.

Close and well-played match by both teams on July 25th at Haines Mill Field in Allentown. The final score: Allentown 3-10, New Hamshire 4-6. Many thanks to NH for making trip down to PA as it was a great opportunity for both teams to compete against regional clubs.

In the first match of the best-of-three series for the Joe Lyons Cup, the final score was Hibernians 3-8, Shamrocks 0-3. The game was held at Haines Mill Field, Allentown. Game two will be held at Cardinal Dougherty H.S. in Philadelphia, Sunday, July 26th, 1 P.M.
Next event is Sunday, July 19th, Alton Park, Allentown for Lehigh Valley Sportsfest - 7's competition. Click on "schedule" for additional details.

Many thanks to Pittsburgh Hurling Club for traveling across state to play Allentown at Haines Mill Field in Allentown on Saturday, June 27th in the challenge match. Allentown 3-17, Pittsburgh 0-3. Next event vs. Pitt. possbily 7's event in Pitt. or Bethlehem at Celtic Fest in Sept.
Next game Allentown Hibernians vs. Philadelphia Shamrocks Sat. July 11th, Haines Mill Field, Allentown, 4 PM. This is the first game in the best of three for the Philadelphia GAA Jr. C Hurling Championship. Second game scheduled Sun. July 26th, Cardinal Dougherty HS. Third game (if necessary), Sun. August 16th, Cardinal Dougherty HS.

In yet another close match against the Philadelphia Shamrocks, the Allentown Hibernians emerged with an extra point in the game at Cardinal Dougherty HS in windy conditions. The final score was Hibernians 2-9, Shamrocks 3-5. The wind played a factor as Allentown had a sizeable lead in the first half with the wind. Philadelphia answered back with goals and points in the second half to a near-draw.

In the first game of the 2009 season, the Allentown Hibernians played a close match against the Philadelphia Shamrocks on May 17th, finishing ahead by two points. Final score: Hibernians 1-11, Shamrocks 3-3. Great effort by both teams. Next game Sunday, May 31st 2 PM, vs. Shamrocks Cardinal Dougherty High School.

Allentown Hibernians Hurling Club 2009 Annual General Meeting |

The Annual Meeting of the Allentown Hibernnians Hurling Club will be held on Sunday, March 8th 4 PM at the Hibernian Room, Columbian Home (K of C) 1519 W. Greenleaf St., Allentown, PA.
New club members are welcome to attend. Annual dues of $75 can be paid at that time.
First practice of the season will be held on Sunday, March 29th, 3-5 PM at the Haines Mill Fields, 3600 Dorney Park Rd., Allentown. Practices on Sundays throughout the season will be held at 4 PM at the fields.
Weeknight practice(s) will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Klines Lane Field, Emmaus on dates TBA.
