Congratulations to seniors Frank Price and Mike Schlegelmilch on their most recent athletic achievements.
On November 12, Frank Price signed his official letter of intent to attend Division 1 powerhouse, University of Virginia. Frank is a 2-time NCHSLA 1st Team All-State Long-stick Midi and a 2009 All American.
On November 13, Mike Schlegelmilch signed his official letter of intent to attend one of the newest Division 2 lacrosse programs, Lenoir Rhyne College (Hickory, NC). Mike is an HSHS Captain and All-Conference Defensemen
As these 2 players can attest, if college athletics is a goal of any student-athlete, it takes a commitment to the classroom, involvement in the community, and a lot of off-field athletic preparation. Please feel free to consult with Frank and Mike if playing any sport in college is a goal of yours.

HSHS BOYS LACROSSE TRAINING: Read about 'WHAT WE DO' |

Anyone planning to tryout for the 2010 HSHS Boys Lacrosse Team has a lot of opportunities to improve various components of their game and overall athletic ability. However, waiting until tryouts on February 16 is too late. It is expected that all participants are learning how we train and are committing to high level preparation.
HSHS Boys Lacrosse is for serious student-athletes that look forward to physical and mental challenges within a very fast-paced, high scoring, contact sport. If you have questions, please contact Coach Greenberg at dgreenberg@wcpss.net.
A. Crossfit Training through Holly Springs Parks & Rec: Contact Mr. Price at fprice21@aol.com for questions. This private program run through the town of Holly Springs will be run as a full team after school starting in December. Full team schedules will be emailed to students via the Coaching Mark only. Anyone not signed up on the team website will not receive the message.
B. Skill Sessions: 9 players will be invited on particular days of the week to work with the coaching staff. On other days, there will be Open Play sessions for all HSHS student-athletes with a valid WCPSS physical on file at the school. This will be supervised game play only. Days and times will be emailed to players that have registered on the Coaching Mark.
C. Personal Weight Training: 3 days per week off campus. Follow the HSHS lacrosse guide or an acceptable guide from a personal trainer. Concentrate on balanced development of primary and secondary muscle groups. Crossfit training, if done at a high intensity level, will replace weight training throughout the year.
D. Multi-sport Development: be actively involved in other sports as part of crossfit training. Train to be a better athlete and not just a better lacrosse player. Experience pressure and adversity in as many situations as possible. It will only help the program to have more players that are confident under pressure.
E. Eat properly, drink water, stretch properly, increase flexibility and strength, rest, recover, and learn to use good form in all that you do. It is too late to change bad fitness habits once the regular season has started.
We look forward to working with all of you, and we hope that you find success in all that you do,
Coach Greenberg Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach, Holly Springs H.S.
