UNCW Team Camp a success! |

I just want to thank Coach Daly and the 17 team members for an awesome team camp. The varsity team was 4-5 in the Silver division while the JV team took 3rd place with an outstanding 7-2 record in the Teal division. The girls did an excellent job of representing themselves and their school while in Wilmington. Not only did they show great sportsmanship during their games, they also watched and supported each others' teams. The experience is something we will carry with us into the winter season. Thank you to everyone who made it possible!

Our trip down to Wilmington went very smoothly this morning. Our two teams found four wins in four games for themselves.
The first varsity game was a two-point victory in which Sheema made four clutch free throws in the last 45 seconds to seal the win. In the second game, Ashley Stoddard passed to Shannon at the top of the key who then knifed her way through the defense for a layup and 1 point lead with 10 seconds to go. The girls fended off two shot attempts at the end to hold on.
On the JV side of things, won a close first game in OT thanks to good free throw shooting, one make by Brittany to force the OT. In the second game, it was a total team effort in their 15-point win. Lots of steals and lots of layups to go around.
Three games and a trip to the beach for each team are on the agenda for Monday. If you're coming to watch us play, the schedule is the same that was given out Sunday morning. Let us know when you're coming and we'll tell you which gym to meet us at.

Panther Creek Critical Information Form |

All athletes trying out must complete the Panther Creek Critical Contact form , as well. I must have this no later than Friday, October 24th. Like the aforementioned physical, everyone has known this since September 4th, please get this in. We have had several accidents at Open-Gym that required us to immediately contact parents. I know you are all busy and don't need extra forms to complete, however, it is in you and your child's best interest to submit this completed should there be an accident:

Physicals!!!! |

Physicals are good for 364 days and everyone must have a current physical to try out for basketball by Monday, October 27, 2008. There are NO EXCEPTIONS! Take this form to your doctor and return it (to myself or Coach Bowman) completed no later than Friday, October 24, 2008.
