With school canceled the past 3 days, we've had a number of changes to Winter Season athletic events. Attached is the most recent schedule.
If you can, come out and support our wrestlers tomorrow night (Thursday, 2/4) as they battle Cary HS for the regular season Conference Championship. Varsity matches start at 7pm. $5.
thanks, Coach Sculer

Field Workday Saturdays |

Hello and Happy New Year to Everyone,
Field Workdays are scheduled on Saturdays this month and most of February from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Field workdays give us an opportunity to address facilities needs and maintenance items that cannot be addressed during the season.
While the season may seem far away given this never ending cold snap, it will be here before you know it.
Below is a list of items that need to be addressed. If you have a particular skill or expertise to take on a specific task please let me know.
- Re-set home plate - Close large gap under LF fence. Add small drain and pipe in that location - Re-located PVC irrigation pipe - Install flagpole. Most importantly get the hole dug (42” deep X 30” wide) and cement base mixed and poured. We can set the pole at a later date. - Cut mound and home plate area grass for new tarps as needed - Re-adjust and tighten the support cable above soft toss net - Deep rake/cultivate 1st and 3rd cut outs - Clean dug outs - Edge, clean and deep drag IF warning track. - Raise big gates on home side fence to allow for a full swing - Install white board & bat racks - Remove pegs from underside of practice bases - General trash and debris pick-up - One riding mower has a short or similar condition and will not run - Sand and re-paint storage doors and certain parts of the dugouts - obviously this is a warm weather task.
Also, it would be helpful if anyone has access to any specialty tools that may make any of these tasks easier. For example we could use a deep wheel barrow, a hoe and hand trowels for mixing concrete for the flagpole base. A motorized auger might be helpful in digging the hole or at least loosening the dirt for removal. A saw and deep mitre box (2 1/2 - 3") would be helpful for cutting irrigation pipe.
We are pretty well equipped with leaf and garden rakes, tampers, picks and flat shovels.
These items should NOT take us 6 Saturdays to complete. With a good turnout I expect we can get them done in much less time than that.
In closing, I’d like to dispel any misconception: our facilities are not maintained by custodial or a dedicated groundskeeping staff – it is done almost exclusively in house. Coach Jones and volunteers cut the grass, edge, plant sod, prep the field for games, repair fencing, repair equipment, paint dugouts etc. The county provides sporadic fertilization and that’s it. If we don’t do it, it will not get done. Batting cages, dugouts, the warning track, scoreboard and many maintenance items are completed because of parental initiative. I hope you can help with these tasks.
Thanks in advance. Go Catamounts! Dave Bouton 741 9700
